On my first full day in the city I climbed the Bradesco building (when I say climbed I of course mean took the lift) to get a sense of the size of the city. The view is actually kind of intimidating-the skyline literally consists of building after building after building for just as far as the eye can see in every direction.
"Think of the stories is more than a phrase; for us it's a way of life." First uttered in a revelatory moment during a gig a year ago, the principle that anything abandoning us with a tale to tell is worth a crack of the whip has provided us with some truely weird & wonderful yarns in our daily London lives; before finally leading us into unemployment and onto a plane bound for Peru..Please sit back and enjoy our tales of tomfoolery from around the globe. ~Hayley&Jen~

Sao Paulo
In terms of conrete jungles, Sao Paulo is pretty much a holy grail. The size of the place is absolutely overwhelming...London population 8 million, Sao Paulo population 22 million...but that in it's own isn't enough to put it in context (and also not necessarily true but a drunk guy in my hostel said it and it sounded about right).
On my first full day in the city I climbed the Bradesco building (when I say climbed I of course mean took the lift) to get a sense of the size of the city. I stayed in the lime time hostel (I don't think I've met anyone thats been to Sao Paulo that didn't stay there), and had a pretty good few days. Met a few really cool people in the hostel, went out clubbing twice to a place called 'd-edge', went to the Japanese district and ate some authentic Japanese food (badly with chopsticks), rode the metro a few times, walked about a bit and saw some buildings, and that was it. I would say in four days I had stayed long enough to get a feel for the place, but not long enough to form a particularly strong bond with it. I found it expensive and overcrowded for the most part, and was happy to be moving on by the time I did, but it's definately somewhere I'm glad I saw. And you can definately party and have alot of fun there-albeit expensively!
